Upie’s Zoo Role.
This zoological park remains above all a large reproduction center for the breeding of rare or threatened species. Regularly, each year, many births are registered, for the public’s joy who can admire the breeding of these “rarities” but first of all in favor of the species protection. A zoological park has a threefold role:
Educational: raise awareness of the need to protect animals and their environment.
- Conservatory: manage populations threatened species by breeding under human control, which has become an essential element for their survival, and support associations working for the protection of species.
- Research: by welcoming teams of researchers or by sharing knowledge acquired through contacts with animals.
In those recent years, the park have been entrusted with another large-scale mission, that of provides a place to welcome wild animals rescued from traffic or just being abandoned.
Upie’s Zoo is a member of AFDPZ (French Association of Zoological Parks.) It also regularly participates in various nature conservation events.
